The WARM Place: Grief Support for Children

Please note the following resource is not part of Cancer Care Services’ programming and is subject to the funds and personnel availability of the respective organization.

The WARM Place provides a safe, compassionate space for children and their families grieving the death loss of a mother, father, sister, brother, or other loved one. This organization offers free grief support for children, their families, and young adults ages 19-25 who have experienced a death loss. Support groups are offered in-person and virtually and are organized by age groups to provide safe and appropriate spaces to grieve.

Children and families can attend peer support groups, potluck dinners, Camp Remember Me, and special family events at no cost. Please refer to their website for application updates for Camp Remember Me.

You can also review their collection of community outreach and education materials, including grief resources for families, community members, and educators.

“We act as a companion along their grief journey, offering love, support, encouragement, and community. Our grief support services are open to children and their families, as well as young adults, free of charge for as long as they need.”

How to join a peer support group at The WARM Place:
  • Call 817-870-2272 to schedule an intake appointment.
  • They must speak with the child’s legal guardian to schedule an appointment.
  • You will speak with an intake counselor who will find the best option for your family.
