Cancer Care Services respects each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our site only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected on the Cancer Care Services website.

Cancer Care Services collects information through our website at several points – aggregate or non-personally-identifying, information on which pages visitors access and personally-identifying information volunteered by visitors, such as event reservations, survey information, and requests for information.

When making a donation (through a third party payment processor embedded into the website) we collect the following information about primary visitors:

  • Donor Name
  • Billing Information (credit card billing name, address, phone, and email)
  • Payment Information (credit card account information)
  • Opt-in choice for donation, memorial, or honorarium.
  • Opt-in choice for memorial or honorarium designee.
  • Opt-in choice for mailing notification of memorial or honorarium.
  • Opt-in choice for e-newsletter.

Cancer Care Services does not actively market to children, and we never knowingly ask a child under 13 to divulge personal information.

We collect the following general data that is not personally identifiable information:

  • Internet Service Provider (ISP) address
  • Referring website address
  • Pages visited on Cancer Care Services’ Website

We collect demographic data in order to track Website usage. The aggregate (non-identifying) information Cancer Care Services collects is used to improve the content of our site and to customize the content and/or layout of our pages. We collect this information through web server logs. The information is collected involuntarily. To donate to Cancer Care Services, the Donor name, Billing Information, and Payment Information is mandatory because it is used to process the donation. Other information we request is optional. We do employ cookies. A cookie is a small text file that our Web server places on a user’s computer hard drive to be a unique identifier. Cookies enable Cancer Care Services to track usage patterns and deliver customized content to users. Our cookies do have an expiration date. Our cookies do not collect personally identifiable information.

Part II. Information Usage

The information collected by Cancer Care Services will be used for processing online donations (through a third-party payment processor) and for addition to our mailing list for newsletters and other updates. The information we collect will be used to create donor profiles based on online and offline donation history. We will supplement information collected at our Website with data from other sources of offline donation histories. We do not share or sell personal data with third parties unless needed for donation purposes. We may offer links to other Websites. Please note: When you click on links to other Websites, we encourage you to read their privacy policies. Their standards may differ from ours. If our policy on information collection or uses changes, Cancer Care Services will update this Privacy Policy.

Part III. Access to Information

Users may delete their information from our database or opt-out of our mailings by making such a request to Cancer Care Services in writing to the VP of Philanthropy at 623 S. Henderson, Fort Worth, TX 76104.

Cancer Care Services protects user information with the following security measures:

  • Restricting staff access to Donor information only for the purposes described above.

Should you choose to submit information to us via email, please be aware Cancer Care Services email is not encrypted. Active seekers may be able to read email that you send us and we send you. If you request information from us and supply your email address, you are authorizing us to respond to you with an unencrypted email message that may contain private information about you or your request. While we are responsible for the privacy of messages that we store on the network, we cannot be responsible for the privacy of those messages once we have transmitted them to you or to your email provider.

Part VI. Use of Forms

Some (but not all) forms on the website are encrypted. Those which are will be notated as secured. Information sent to us through an unencrypted form could be intercepted and read. All information from encrypted or unencrypted forms is kept in secure databases accessible only by Cancer Care Services staff.

We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology for the areas of our site where we ask you to provide credit card numbers or other financial information. SSL technology encrypts your personal information to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone other than Cancer Care Services.
