2021 – April:
From the Desk Of…
Melanie Wilson, Cancer Care Services CEO

Although “spring has sprung” – my garden reminds me of the historic winter storm we endured in February. Typically my fringe flowers would be bright red and my 7-foot oleander would be hot pink! But not this spring. And their fragility has sparked a renewed appreciation for my indestructible yuccas and knockout roses! They never let me down! My garden is a metaphor for my Cancer Care Services friends who also never let me down. I am extraordinarily blessed to be surrounded by hundreds of people who love our mission, just as I do! One special group of loyal friends has made a personal investment in our work for a 5-year period (some even longer!). These devoted donors are the “roses” of our garden. Even during a pandemic, an economic crisis, and a destructive snowstorm – our Legacy of Hope Giving Society members remain steadfast in ensuring our supportive programs and services for cancer patients, survivors, and their families continue to BLOOM in Tarrant County! I am a member of the Legacy of Hope Giving Society, and if you would like to learn how to join me – please reach out! Melanie@CancerCareServices.org And if you are expressing your passion for our beloved organization in other ways, like volunteering, hosting a virtual tour, donating at other levels, or by keeping our clients in your thoughts – THANK YOU! Since 1946, Cancer Care Services has weathered its share of storms… nevertheless, we gratefully remain evergreen and in full-bloom during our 75th Birthday!
