Our licensed social workers at Cancer Care Services do many different things from case management, intake and clinical work. They help people get the things they need, help clients plan their cancer journey, help them with direct financial assistance, nutritional supplements, medication, transportation assistance, as well as addressing the holistic needs of our clients, families and caregivers. Events & Activities
Throughout the year our Connect Program provides a multitude of events and activities for our clients and client families. From bi- monthly Connect nights, to weekend and weeklong Camps, and many seasonal activities in between. We are always in need of volunteers to help us plan, setup, host, and facilitate these especially memorable events and activities!
Volunteers are sometimes needed for general office duties such as filing, organization, phone calls, or reception coverage. Help is typically needed Monday through Friday between 8 am and 5 pm. No special skills are required, training is minimal and can occur on the day of help.
A new program provided by Cancer Care Services to Texas Oncology Fort Worth Cancer Center. We need volunteers down in the lobby of Texas Oncology greeting patients and helping them to navigate which floor their appointment is on. We also need volunteers in the Infusion Room providing hospitality which includes; passing out blankets, water, snacks, and providing companionship. These opportunities will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm at the downtown Fort Worth location of Texas Oncology. We do anticipate growth in opportunities in the future!
A mentorship style program where a volunteer is paired with a client to be a Partner, Advocate, and Lifeline during the cancer journey. You as a volunteer are able to help ease the anxieties of those currently going through the journey of cancer. By providing information, inviting them to events, speaking of your experiences, and helping them navigate their disease, you are able to bring peace and comfort to their journey. This mentorship style program is based on personal time preference between the two individuals.
