Our twelve licensed social workers at Cancer Care Services do many different things from case management, intake and clinical work. They help people get the things they need, help clients plan their cancer journey, help them with direct financial assistance, nutritional supplements, medication, transportation assistance, as well as addressing the holistic needs of our clients, families and caregivers. If you have any questions at all, please call one of our caring social workers today! 817-921-0653

Cancer Care Services could not serve nearly 6,000 clients in three North Texas counties without strong volunteer support. Our volunteer needs vary throughout the year. Therefore, please contact Toni Hooten, Activities/Volunteer Manager at 817-921-0653, ext. 221 or firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain a Volunteer Application. Thank you in advance for your desire to provide HELP and HOPE to those impacted by cancer in our community! Volunteer needs generally include assistance with:
If you are a cancer survivor and at least one year post-treatment, consider being a mentor and help ease the anxieties of those currently going through the cancer treatments you experienced. Provide information, let them know what they could do to feel better and help them know more about their particular cancer. Contact can be maintained via telephone, visits or meeting at CCS events.
Thanksgiving Food Drive (seasonal)
With cancer treatment cost and worries being so high, some of our families need assistance in order to have a Thanksgiving meal. Collaborate with your office, school or association to collect non-perishable goods to help feed families in danger of not having a meal this holiday. There is also a need for monetary donations in order to purchase turkeys and pastries.
Adopt-A-Family Holiday Program (seasonal)
Every holiday season, families who are in financial need and have at least one member in active treatment could receive holiday assistance in the form of gifts and food from the community. Adopt a family and donate gifts or money to bring holiday cheer into their lives. There is also sometimes need for assistance with gift wrapping and the delivery of gifts to their individual homes.
Cancer Care Services hosts special events including festivals, movie nights, seasonal parties, a summer kids camp, and more for individual cancer patients and their families. Help is sometimes needed with food preparation, serving, set-up, organization of materials or monitoring children. Special event volunteers must make at least a two hour commitment per event.
Event Committee (seasonal)
Certain events in our community involve rigorous planning and preparation. We need committed individuals to chair a committee or subcommittee. If you have or are looking to gain experience with event planning, promotion or donor relations please contact Cindy for more information.
Volunteers are sometimes needed to help with general office duties such as filing client information, making information packets, or answering phone calls. Help is needed during general office hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours can be on a fixed schedule, or as needed.
Donating to Cancer Care Services
Cancer Care Services (CCS) relies on contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and community organizations. CCS receives no government funds or insurance reimbursements. Only 20 percent of the budget is used for administration and fundraising. So, 80 cents of each dollar contributed helps cancer patients, survivors, their families and caregivers. Everyone who makes a donation will receive a receipt in the form of a personal letter that includes the date and amount of the gift. All contributions are tax deductible. Our IRS Tax # is 75-1025511. CCS has extensive systems in place to protect the privacy of our clients and donors. We will never share any information about you with another person, agency, institution or entity without your permission.
Memorials and Honorariums
Celebrate the life of someone special by making a donation in their memory or honor. We will send a personalized acknowledgement card to the person of your choice. Please include the name and address of the person to whom you are paying tribute and/or the name and mailing address of the person who should receive acknowledgment of your gift. Also, include your mailing address so we can send you a receipt. We will take care of the rest.
